So I have been an animal lover my whole life and as long as I can recall I have had multiple pets. This trend got a little tricky when I moved away to college, but I have managed to keep a tradition that started in high school of getting fowl for Easter. You might wonder what good is a duck? But I can't tell you...you simply must own one for yourself to understand the feelings of little ducklings waddling after you in a straight line. I must say that when I have pet ducks there is joy in my heart and in my life.
They were born in April of 2008 and in the picture below are only a few days old. We called the lot of the "Los Diablos" because we bought them from a feed store with the address of 666. The yellow one was my roommate Ashley's duck, she named him Hugo. The multi-colored duck was mine, and I named him Paco. And the black duck was Amanda's, he was a surprise for her so we called him "El Negro" until we gave him to Amanda and she named him Carlton.
All grown...this was the day I gave them to a petting zoo, they're now 9 months old. Paco no longer fits on my shoulder...Hugo is really a girl, she is now white and layed eggs every other day for the past several months. Carlton didn't change colors, but we thought he was retarded the way he stood and walked...we called him a "cruck" because he looks like a crow/duck...turns out he's a different breed of duck called a "running duck".
